We normally associate chai as a comforting, hot drink, perfect for colder months. We’ve transformed the warm cup of tea you love into a creamy, flavorful smoothie that’s great year-round. With the addition of our Vanilla Daily Shake, it transforms into a complete meal. Our clean protein powder is full of nutrients, plus it’s vegan and gluten-free.
During digestion, protein is broken down into smaller polypeptide chains so that the essential amino acids can be absorbed and used by the body. An “essential” amino acid is simply one that can not be produced by the body. It’s important to consume high-quality protein sources to access these nine essential amino acids.
“Complete” protein sources (meaning they contain all essential amino acids) tend to come from animal sources. For vegans and vegetarians, there’s no worry that all essential amino acids can’t be found in a plant-based diet, it’s just important to eat a variety of protein sources like grains, legumes, and beans. Getting adequate protein in every meal is an important tool for hormone production, blood sugar stabilization, and satiety.
The spices in this smoothie give it the chai flavor, but also add a variety of nutrients. Ginger is an incredible digestive aid, can treat nausea, helps boost immunity, and fights inflammation. Cinnamon is a powerful spice that improves circulation. Cinnamon’s calcium content is surprisingly high. Calcium helps the body remove bile salts, which is important for preserving colon health.
We’ve also added a healthy dose of fat to this smoothie with avocado as the creamy base. Avocados are filled with a type of fat categorized as monounsaturated. This means that the majority of the fat in avocados is oleic acid. Oleic acid helps fight inflammation and helps prevent heart disease. Avocados are also full of fiber, which helps to remove toxins and waste from the body.
Serves 1-2
Ingredients:
2 scoops Vanilla Daily Shake (or one Vanilla Cleanse Shake Packet)
2 cups almond milk
1 cup ice
1 avocado
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 dates pitted
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
optional: cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Gather ingredients and remove the pit and skin from avocado.
Step 2: Add all ingredients to blender. Blend on high until creamy and smooth.
