Fire Cider Recipe That Can Help Boost Your Immunity

spicy-cider-stacked

Fire cider is made with a slew of health-enhancing ingredients. At first, the ingredients may sound odd but the result is a spicy, sweet, and sour combination that you can dilute in juice or water, or take straight as a health shot to improve immunity. Fire cider is an ancient healing drink.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR – A HEALTH TONIC

The base for this drink is apple cider vinegar, which has long been used for health and medicinal purposes. Apple cider vinegar is made by fermenting crushed apples. After the apples are fermented, bacteria is added, which turns the alcohol into acetic acid. Acetic acid gives apple cider vinegar its sour taste and it is also thought to have many health benefits.

This may be one reason that apple cider vinegar has been shown to slow the release of sugar into the bloodstream and help stabilize blood sugar when consumed regularly.

Apple cider vinegar also helps kill harmful bacteria, helps fight diabetes, and may help you lose weight. Fire cider is one way to get a potent dose of apple cider vinegar into your daily diet.

GET THE GOLD WITH TURMERIC

We’ve included fresh turmeric in this spicy cider, which adds a bright orange hue and many benefits. Just be careful when handling fresh turmeric, as it can stain clothes and surfaces easily. Turmeric contains powerful antioxidants which help fight inflammation and free radical damage in the body. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which is more effectively absorbed when consumed with black pepper. The combination of turmeric and black pepper in this cider will help you absorb the benefits of turmeric.

Step 3: After the fermentation process is complete, strain the liquid and store your fire cider in an airtight container in the fridge. You can add a dash of honey or another cleanse-friendly sweetener to the mixture before consuming. Take as a shot, dilute in water or juice, or pour over food.

*It is important that the container for your cider is cleaned really well before use to avoid the growth of bad bacteria during the fermentation process.
