7 Healthy Living Habits To Establish Right Now

healthy-living-habits

Healthy living doesn’t need to be complicated – but we can often feel overwhelmed. Fear not, putting into practice a few clean healthy living habits (like shifting how you eat food) can help you feel great all year long. We are all about those achievable goals! Here are some we find helpful, and remember to take them day by day.

1. Have a healthy shake

Drinking a delicious and healthy Daily Shake is our number one healthy living recommendation. These shakes are nutrient-dense, easy-to-make, and taste great plus they are one of the simplest ways to support your body’s natural ability to cleanse and detoxify, daily.

We love juice, but nothing beats the versatility of the shake. Get into the habit of having yours first thing in the morning, as a snack, or after a workout. Boost this healthy living routine with some daily supplements and you’ll be all set.

2. Write down your new goals

It can be easy to forget about your health if you don’t have a target to hit. Spend a few minutes thinking about the areas of your health you’d like to improve and then write them down. Make the goals clear and specific.

3. Pay attention to the “Big Three”

Caffeine, sugar, and alcohol can be tricky to avoid because they often make us feel so good, at first. But each one has real downsides for your health such as spikes in cravings, loss of energy, and weight gain. Keep an eye on how you use these three in your daily life and do your best to crowd them out with cleaner options. Often adding in new and healthier foods is easier and more effective than using pure will power to restrict your food options.

4. Do a cleanse once a year

A cleanse is one of the best ways maintain your healthy living goals. “Almost every symptom we experience today, from skin issues and digestive problems, to fatigue, brain fog, and constipation can be connected back to the ability of our body to detoxify.” There are many more reasons to do a cleanse, but giving our bodies the gift of a cleanse once a year is the least we can do to show our appreciation.

5. Break up with processed foods

Processed foods can wreak havoc on your liver and overall healthy living habits, but it’s not the easiest item to give up. The number one way we recommend to break this habit is to eat enough calories from low-sugar clean goods through the day – try focusing on adding in some healthy fats and protein.

6. Up your sleep game

When we get busy, the first thing we often skimp on is sleep. But sleep is the cheapest and perhaps most powerful wellness tool we have! Sleep has been shown to improve all health indicators, including weight loss, mental performance, decision-making, and ability to fight illness. Improve the quality of your sleep with blackout curtains, a sleep mask, getting enough sunlight during the day, and using amber lights.

7. Practice gratitude

“Gratitude according to current research, can do anything from helping you achieve your goals more fluidly, to improving your skills of empathy and resilience.” It also happens to relax the body, reduce stress, improve digestion, and deepen our relationships. When you’re thinking about your health and what you want to improve, let’s not forget to give thanks for all that we already have and how far we’ve come.
